The Thaya Culture Festival (2024, July 19th.-21st).

Unbelievable as it may seem, the Nations of the Podyjí celebrates its quarter century. During its history, the association has seen many personalities from the ranks of both locals and immigrants. Even today, the association is open to all who are interested in social and cultural events in our town. It is thus an excellent platform to connect new residents with those who need no introduction in Mikulov. This is where the strength and uniqueness of the whole event lies, which grew on the idea of getting to know each other and getting closer between neighbours and cultures, while providing a space for the presentation of national specialties of people living in our region. Music and gastronomic festivals are now a common part of the cultural summer in many towns in the Czech Republic. Few events, however, have the overlap that Nations. Because local people organise it themselves, as best they can and as they enjoy it.

This year’s festival will kick off with a classic panel discussion in the Konvent Gallery dedicated to national minorities and the founding members of the association. Over the course of Saturday, 20 different cuisines will be featured in the square, plus a very varied musical offer awaits visitors. Among the main performers will be, for example, Breclav’s HB Stop in a special formation, the group Quarter to Death or the Band of Heysek. The best part comes at the end – a joint Sunday breakfast on the Square will treat everyone who joins in.

Come and join in the organisation of the festival and bring us a taste of what you like to eat for breakfast.
